Alexa Developer T-Shirts

So I got one of those T-Shirts Amazon offered for Alexa Skill developers in Germany. Quite cool design, and those binary numbers on the front apparently were supposed to mean something. Actually supposed is the key word here, as it seems someone over at Amazon did produce a typo ;-)

The binary digits as on the shirt, are:

01000001 01101100 01100101 01111000 01100001 00100001 11001101
11000001 11001001 11001011 00011011 01000011 10100001 00000010
00100011 00101011 10101011 10100011 10011011 00011011 01000

So this obviously looks like binary representation of ASCII characters, which translate too:

Note the missing digits for a correct multiple of eight. When you try
decoding starting at the last digit, it actually seems to be readable too.

I guess this should rather be:

01000001 01101100 01100101 01111000 01100001 00100000 01110011
01110000 01110010 01101001 01100011 01101000 01110100 00100000
01100100 01100101 01110101 01110100 01110011 01100011 01101000

Which translates to

Alexa spricht deutsch

Actually I’m not sure if this is a typo or a designer who thought I cut a few digits to get it in shape. Maybe I made a mistake typing those digits too - it’s late ;)
